Random (New) Members + Profile Pictures &/or Avatars
 

Good afternoon dear Coders,

I would like to suggest something that would be pretty easy I am assuming, a little script where it catches maybe the first 100 new members then displays them randomly (on the forumhome for example) with their avatars and/or profile picture, one or the other would be good.

Or maybe even only displaying there profile picture or avatar.

Anyways, something like this would be very interesting and I'm sure would get alot of installs :)

A great idea - it would take a site to another level... particularly if this was shown on the front page of a portal - a bit like some of the large social networking sites do.

We will see if we can add this to our new profile hack.

For those of us that have portals (I run vbPortal) please consider adding the ability to show this on the front page of a portal... a bit like you see on some of the sites where you have to register before you can even use the site - they often put a few photos of new users on the front page to tempt you into registering.

Yup, the best would be to simply be able to put this into vBulletin templates...

we can't add the ability to add it to your vbportal. We aren't working on a portal, we are only focusing on user profiles. Thats it.

You missed my point... add the ability to show this mod as a block / section elsewhere on a site - like PhotoPost have a little module that allows a random photo block outside of the /gallery directory.
