Rewrite base

hay i'm running my forum like mydomain.com/forum

so i saw in your install info to change Rewrite Base / to Rewrite Base /yourdir

so where i can change that? It's not in the .htaccess file in the zip.
I dont have a .htaccess file in root directiry i have apache too.
So should i create a .htaccess file and upload there?
please let me know what should i write inside of that file and where to place that?

Upload the .htaccess in /forum.

I have a .htaccess file for Vbseo sitemap hack in domain.com/forum dir .
If i upload another .htaccess file in /forum dir it will be replaced .
what can i do ?

You have to have the showthread and standard_error templates somewhere - and it is crucial that you add it because all your images will break (depends on skin used, but highly likely.)
