I would like to add a chat room to my board how do I do this? I see some other boards where the chat is always closed down due to problems so is it really a big headache?

I use Flashchat. Costs $5, well worth it, works very well and there are a number of ways to integrate it with vB.

ok I clicked on the download but how do I know it is downloaded to my site? should have known it wasnt that easy. who do I pay and where? Thank you.

my site doesnt have a spot that says chat. I did not set my board up I paid a web desinger to do that. This board has cost me more then I wanted to spend.

The easiest way is to use one of the free chatroom services. All you have to do is paste a link in your navbar or footer. liveHarmony is the best one I'm aware of (no ads, great support). It has the same controls as IRC. You can have it up and running in 5 mins, and if it breaks, it won't break your board with it.

When you pay your $5 for flashchat you get a code to put in on their download site, you then download the latest zip file. You then have to unzip the contents, copy them to your server, and install flashchat - you then have to add a link on your navbar.

I use VolanoChat Pro. I have it fully integrated with vBulletin for all of its functions. anyone in the mods usergroups automatically has Chat Monitor privileges, and more! I have all 150+ customizable settings all incorporated into my module for it... and it's relatively easy to install.
