Blocked User

I have a user who sees his own posts, but nobody else does. As admin, what I see is....

The administrator has decided that "username" should be quiet for a while.

I dont remember what hack does this...LOL. I have some spam checker hacks and wonder if one of those nailed him. For the life of me, I cant figure out how to unban him. I show no banned users, his title is registered user, etc, etc...

check under vboptions > user banning options (I think) > Tachy Goes To Coventry.

It sounds like you have him on the Tachy list.

That's the global ignore (coventry) feature of vb, not a hack. The list of ignored userids is in the ACP vbulletin options.

Yup, that was it. I wonder if one the hacks added those numbers in there? There were two userID's listed there, and I didnt put them there. The only hack I have that "might" do something like that is VSpamScan. I will have to go read up on that hack more.

Yep, just looked. It does indeed send their user id to that. So now I have to figure out why.

Slight derail, but what's the origin of that anyway? It always makes me chuckle when I see it. :D

Sending someone to coventry is a phrase used in the UK to mean you stop speaking to them (ignore them basically). I believe Tachy was a user on vb.com.

Thanks. :D As an ignorant yank, I am obsessed with colloquial european slang. Makes me laugh every time.

You scarcy sod, you.

Please share if you figure it out. I use the same hack and can't seem to find a setting that set's that threshold for sending people to coventry.
