Auto Subscribe To A Forum Based On Usergroup

Hello,

I was wondering if there was a way to auto subscribe a certain usergroup to all posts in a certain forum?

Thanks for your time in this and any help provided!!

I was just looking for this too.

Wasn't able to find anything via the search --- anyone have any ideas?

TIA,

bump...I want newly registered members to be autosubscribed to a specific forum

Ditto. That's exactly what I'm looking for, too. All the posted mod does is add faster notification to the current set up. The member still has to choose to subscribe to a forum, but I want to be able to subscribe a whole usergroup at one time via the AdminCP.

Me too. At the moment I have to keep updating the ewmail notification boxes on three forums to get this! Not so bad to set up a new account but then I have to delete it if they leave the project; change their email address; or move from one of these forums to another.
It would be easier to do this by username - email addresses are not nearly so recognisable and I'm searching through lists of 30 or so in this fiddly little box.

By the way I had a nice mod made called Switchboard.
I list several mods in the Switchboard notify box - by username, then again in a second box to add info about them.
What the user sees is a list of these above the Send button. They MUST notify one mod in order to post.
The mods themselves don't have to notify another mod but if they want to they can (checkbox)

I could ask my coder if he can do the usergroup notification?

One way I can think of is to create a newsletter in a third party program and then insert the subscribe/unsubscribe code from that program as a user profile field or manually code it into the USER CP. If someone wants to unsubscribe, they can just as easily go into their USER CP and unsubscribe.

Anyone ever get this figured out? Looking to have members auto-subscribed to specific forums/sub-forums at point of registration.
