vBulletin using alot of sql usage??

Well my forum all a sudden got really slow, and i contacted my host and they said my site is using alot of sql usage which is causing it to load really slow when you refresh and stuff,, how would i lower the sql usage?

akanevsky 06-28-2006 12:22 AM

I would suggest you change your host because vBulletin's sql is optimized to the max...

Go here:

Read the sticky, and let them have a pass at your server settings. There's a good chance you aren't configured for optimal performance.

Are you running any hacks/mods?
How many users are online at any given time?
How large is your database?

HostileAdam 06-28-2006 01:03 AM

My SQL is like 60-90 MB, 6900+ members, usually 100 + online, 60+ users 40+ guests but the weird thing is it was normal just last night then all sudden i came on and it was REALLY slow. my sql usage is red and not green. last hack i installed was the warning system but i disabled it.

Link to your site?

HostileAdam 06-28-2006 01:09 AM

Well now we are switching servers saturday to a even bigger one so he said it should solve the issue, if it dont then ill reply back with what he says.

could it be the 400 games we added?

Guest210212002 06-28-2006 03:31 AM

Not really, unless you constantly have 400 people in the arcade.

Again, link your site if you expect actual help here, because honestly we can probably help you, but playing the guessing game as to what it might be isn't really something we should be doing.

last time I experienced something like that was because the disk where the SQL data was stored was at the end of it's life.

HostileAdam 06-30-2006 05:09 PM

Its fixed now, my host rebooted the server and it fixed the issue
