Visiting-Card/Name-Badge idea
 

Like a lot of forums our members often meet up at venues, along with loads of other people from similar groups. We need a way of identifying each other.

I'd do this myself, but I've not done enough web development to have the experience :) So it'd be rubbish!

My idea is to have a menu item available to a user to produce a sheet of 'visiting cards' with their avatar, their forum name, and the url of the forum. A standard forum image as a background, and optionally the user's email address. This could be available to subscribed users, or whichever groups the forum owners chose. The users can print them sheets of them out themselves, cut them up, then stick a pin on the back of one for id purposes, and hand out others to contacts. The contacts would then have your group's name, and the member's info. They'd be able to contact the member via pm after joining your group, or via email if the address was there. This'd be useful for members, and extra advertising for your group, so everyone would win!

Unless I've completely the wrong idea this would be fairly easy, and as long as member's could only print out their own data, would be secure...

If anyone could knock something up like this I'd be ever so grateful :)
