Hide messages from a category

Hi,

I have 10400 messages in a category called "dump", we use this category to put all messages that we moderator think that are obsolete, old, or simple to clean the forum.
However we don't want to stats count the 10400 in the total of messages, just the ones we use on the other topics.

Is there any way to hide this?
