How email notices work (instant ones)
 

Was wondering if anyone knows exactly the logic behind when instant notifications are sent for someone that is subscribed to a thread.

My best guess from what I have seen so far is that when a new post is made to a subscribed thread since you last visited the forum in question, you should get an email about the post, but if not no email.

The other guess I had was that you had to actually visit the thread you were subscribed to since your last notice for that thread was received to get another, but I think the first guess is more probable.

Anyone know how this works for sure? Thanks,

Seems like you have it correct. You get one notice.If you don't visit, you don't get more, but if you visit, you will get another.
