How email notices work (instant ones)
Was wondering if anyone knows exactly the logic behind when instant notifications are sent for someone that is subscribed to a thread.
My best guess from what I have seen so far is that when a new post is made to a subscribed thread since you last visited the forum in question, you should get an email about the post, but if not no email. The other guess I had was that you had to actually visit the thread you were subscribed to since your last notice for that thread was received to get another, but I think the first guess is more probable. Anyone know how this works for sure? Thanks, Tim |
Seems like you have it correct. You get one notice. If you don't visit, you don't get more, but if you visit, you will get another.
