vb security questions...
 
I'm sorta the tech support guy for a vb forum, and recently something came up where we are expecting some 'foulplay' attempts on the site. How secure is vb with plugins and stuff added? I want to make sure the site won't be compromised.

Another question...is there any directories that can have .htaccess files added or will that interfere with the internal workings of vb?

You can htaccess the admincp and modcp directories. Also ensure that you have no impex directory on your site.

so other than that...it should be really difficult for a hack to break in and mess vb up right? there is not html allowed, and even bbcode is restricted to certain usergroups...is there anything else we should work about locking up?

Just make sure that you are always running the latest Stable version of vBulletin, and you keep any modifications up to date with the latest releases.

vBulletin by itself is secure, so don't overload it with a bunch of hacks.
