Post count reduces when threads deleted by design (Question)
Sorry, I searched for this but the words "post count" return a lot of results.
When you delete threads, post counts drop. A couple of my users are having a fit over this. (We recently converted to VB from another package that did not do this.) Is there a modification available that would cause the post count to simply increase by one when you post but never decrease when threads are deleted? Thank you. |
An easier method could be just create a "Recycle bin" forum that you move "deleted" posts to, that's hidden and only accessable by Mods and Admins.
this way you can also have people post on why the thread was removed, and keep track of frequent offenders. |
That's true and I do have a forum like that where I track issues from trouble-makers or anything I might want later. Problem is, it would eventually run into hundreds of thousands of posts if I put everything in a forum like that, that was just "deletable" material.

Yeah, that can be a problem. Thankfully the one forum that I help mod that uses that sort of system doesn't get that many bad apples and we're only at 2k or so.
I did some searching. Perhaps this would be what you're after? https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=106620 |
