Rules for VB hacks?

I'm currently doing something for one of my sites which will

a) automatically select a users playlist and insert it into their profile
b) show their currently playing media in postbit

The hack will be compatible with winamp and WMP.

I'm considering sticking the hack on this site when finished but I'm not sure it would be allowed. :(

So my question is as follows: Are activeX controls acceptable in hacks?
