vbNews
Hello everybody,
Do you think one of you 1337 coders of vBulletin could make a modification entitled 'vbNews.' It's sole purpose is so it would allow webmasters to syndicate topics in forums as news onto their website (website integration). Tipem |
You mean much like the news module on vB powerded portals like vBAdvanced?
Every thread in a specific forum gets shown as news post on the website? But for external pages that have nothing to with the vB? Sounds intersting.... /me takes note |
I'd imagine this would be something like a Portal or Article system, somewhat of a vB extension. Not everyone wants a portal or is willing to spend for GARS. While WebTemplates and vBadvanced can be customized to pull posts as news it takes a bit of coding knowledge or at least some understanding of vB's PHP protocol. With the Latest Threads and Posts available I'm surprised that there isn't a demand for a News request.

I'm going to be creating a News Content Management System a little down the road. My hack will take a group/list of forums that news resides in, displays them in an organized fashion, categorizs them by to the admin's choosing, and displays them accordingly. I don't know if this is what you are after mrTip, but I am going to create it so that it can be displayed to non-vb pages as well as standard templates.

Christian, now you've done it :D You've just doomed yourself to numerous bumps of this thread saying 'oooh I want that! Is it done yet?'
