little bullet mark not showing when i've read a thread

i've double checked it, and i have it turned on in the ACP..yet when i post in a thread, i don't get that little "dot" ont he envelope that shows ive read it. may be a minor thing, but i really like that feature-i like being able to see at a glance which threads i've posted in.

does nayone have any ideas why it might not be working?
