Set default vB code {option} for when not set?

I am trying to make a vB code that would work like this...

HTML Code:

[tag]{param}[/tag]

would display: Neat! {param}

then if the option is set, it would replace the "Neat!" with the set option.

So...

HTML Code:

[tag=Custom Text]{param}[/tag]

would display: {option} {param}
