some of my members in my forum keeep getting a error when trying to open a thread this is only happening to a few sometimes

the error is

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes eXhausted (tried to allocate 1024 bytes) in /home/forumlar/public_html/forum/includes/functions_search.php on line 196

Make sure you have uploaded all of your vBulletin files located within the upload folder, making sure to maintain the same directory structure :)

I once saw that problem on a board that had automatic search for similar threads enabled. It occured only when posting threads that had topics with very common words in it.

The fix we used was to simply disable the feature, but perhaps simply bumping the allowed memory usage in php will fix the problem as well? Or perhaps changing the search index so it doesnt contain as many (short) words?

Edit: D'uh, I need to check the dates of posts before replying..
