Random Quote
Ok I am currently using a mod called Random Content. You can put quotes on one line in a text file. The module will then read each line at random and post the quote in a block. You can see this at work by going to my site theofficeforum.net. I have a request though. I want a form that a user can fill out with their name, email (unless they are logged in it would be nice for that to be autocompleted since they are a member and their info is in the db) and a notes/comments section where they can add a quote from the show. It would be convenient if there was a way to store this informaiton so that it could be loaded into the Random Quote module and be displayed at random. Almost like submitting a comments forms but instead this would insert information into a file to be read at random thru the module. Can anyone assist me with this? It's annoying to have to manually add each quote to a .txt file and put it on my server when I could have users submit their own and have it be done automatically. I could see a mod like this becomign popular. Thanks!

I'm not a programmer, but I can agree with the need for this. I've wanted random, rotating content pretty badly -- for quotes, tips, what have you.

Why not store the quotes in a db table and call them from there? That's what I do with over 1300 quotes. ;)

Awesome! Thanks. Would there be any way to make this a small left block? I wouldn't have a need to have a center block, taking up that much space. Take a look at my site theofficeforum.net on the left side in Random Quotes to get an idea of the size..Can anyone hack this mod to make it a small block? Thanks.
