The-Aken.com

This is my personal website, used mainly for that purpose - to +++++ myself out to the internet. I also have a section of the forum setup for my car club.

The style I'm working on right now is pretty simple - nothing extravagently different or custom, but far enough from the standard vBulletin layout to not be dull (at least in my opinion). It isn't really complete, and I'm still finding random bugs here and there.

I'm mainly looking for current feedback, and any suggestions you guys might have.

Oh, and I am aware that the top bar looks retarded as of right now - I'm going to be incorporating the unregistered welcome message, login box, and recent stuff for logged-in users. Sort of my own Welcome Panel hack. So I am aware of that!

love it

You're ugly for not being registered!

:x

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home2/critical/public_html/the-aken/forum/includes/functions_user.php on line 161

Aken 05-15-2006 05:43 AM

Ack! You caught me while I was fiddling.

Actually I still am, but that error has since been fixed :D

Also, I think I'm satisfied with how I have my news/blog posts laid out now, on the homepage. Feel free to critique.

[high]* Aken has a feeling this will turn into a semi-blog thread, cause I'll probably post everytime I update something :D[/high]

Sometimes simple works. Your site has a "blog" feel to it. There is a movement of many web designers who are opting this type of style. I do like where you're going with it.

I'd like to see some of the category colors you have on your forum come into play in your Portal (content column). That's my only constructive criticism for now. :)

The color scheme on the forum is great.
