Force newbies to make a intro thread before seeing forums
 

I Tried doing a search but i am not sure what the name of this mod is. but what i want is for new members to have to make an intro thread before they can see the rest of the forum. could someone please direct me to that hack.

you can do this using usergroups and the user promotions system in vBulletin, no hacks needed.
ie.

registered users would be the limited group, so you set the permissions for each main forum so they cannot view the forum (permissions will be inherited by subforums)
then they have to make 1 post in the new members section. once they have 1 post the user promotion would move them to 'usergroup B'. you would set that via the user promotions tab and set promotion strategy to 'posts' and 1
