character count in registration fields?
 

My users are required to enter a brief bio when they register and I use this info to approve or deny their membership. Very often the info is cut off because they entered too many words, but they are not notified of this in any way and they assume I am receiving their entire bio.

I've looked around here but I can't find anything that would add a character count to registration fields. Does anything like this exist?

Take a look at http://www.shiningstar.net/articles/...nter.asp?ID=AW - it's a fairly simple bit of javascript, so shouldn't be too hard to hack into the registration template.
