vBulletin not sending email notices
Hi,
I'm running 3.5.4 on my site, but I can't seem to get vBulletin to send any email notifications. Whether a user is set to get instant notification, daily or whatever, no email notices are being sent to members. I've checked the settings I know to check. Does anyone have any thoughts why this may be happening? Thanks, Mark |
I've noticed that too at times on my site. But then I am just starting this one so that could be it.
|
I searched these forums for answers and see that alot of people have problems getting emails sent automatically from vBulletin, but no one seems to have any answer why or how to fix. Hmmmm...
The email diagnostics tool works and I receive that email. I also receive emails notifying me of new members, but I don't get any other emails: thread updates, etc. Thanks, Mark |
Have you checked over at the com?
|
I'm going to post there too. Maybe someone can help. I saw in other posts where some were saying to check with the site host, but I'm not sure what I'm suppossed to check.
Thanks |
I can't see it being the host if you are getting some and not getting the others. If you weren't getting any, maybe.
Let me know what you find out on the com. Maybe there is an issue that we can find a fix for. Or maybe there's something we're just not seeing. ;) |
Do you have your css stored as files??? if so try undoing it..... That caused me problems in the past.
|
Ok, I'm stupid. What are CCS files?
Thanks, Mark |
Well,
CSS stands for Cascading Style sheets and I am not going to define what that is right now but in your general options under styles and language settings you have an option to store your css as files. I am not sure why but in the past this has caused problems for me sending e-mail. |
I've got exactly the same problem: E-Mails are sent out, but not the E-Mail Notifications about new Private Messages. I've tested it and it doesn't make any difference whether I'm working with internal or external CSS files.
On vb.com I only found one of these annoying, arrogant answers I've read there now too many times already ... like: "we don't know this problem, so it must be your problem not ours" ... Any ideas and help would be very much appreciated. Franz |
