How do I customise which banners to display on different forums
 

COuld someone please give me a hack/code that would let me

1. Display different banners on the Navbar for each forum..

i.e. if My VBsite has 5 forums, say A,B,C,D,E then I want forum A's Navbar to display banner 1 , forum B's Navbar to display banner 2 and so on

2. How do I display different banners on the top and bottom of each forum.. i.e. similar to point 1 except the location of the banner is the top or bottom of the forum

lastly how do I actually identify the forum I'm looking for within all the code.. will I be able to find the forum by its name? eg forum A ...or does VB assign it's own referencing to the forums on my site?

please help! I'm a complete newbie to VB and am finding all this code etc DEAD HARD! ... isn't there an Idiot's Guide book on this :cross-eyed:

Simply put if and elseif clauses in forumdisplay template.

Eg:-
replace XX with the forum id.

several questions, that is all the code i need? and i take it i replace: "display certain banner image" with my banner image path?

i can place that anywhere in the template? and where will the banner show up. right now my google ad banner is at the top.

so you are saying you want 4 different forums to have a specific banner in the navbar, and any other forums should have the google adsense?

if so...either post your navbar template or pm it to me and i'll take a look at it...

If you want different banners depending on which forum your users are in: just add this code:

<img src="http://www.site.com/$foruminfo[forumid].jpg">

Just replace the url with the forum id.

For exmaple, save banner for forum id 3 to 3.jpg or whatever you want.
