Planet Diaz!

Hi everyone, I just finished skinning my forums. This is the first skin I made on vB (hope is not the last one) and I must admit I spent a lot of time! working on this design to get the look I wanted.

Ok so no more talking, here is the site's URL

Site: http://www.planetdiaz.com

Forum: http://www.planetdiaz.com/forums

Please tell me what do you think?

Is it me or does that look like a 70% copy of the smooth blue style here? You've just done the bare minimum to avoid copyright..

MrDiaz 05-01-2006 11:00 AM

Does it look the same to you? The only thing that might look the same is the color scheme, is that plagiarism? I don't think so, no.

Thanks for the comments though.

I don't think it's a copy of Smooth Blue. Personally, I love blue themed web sites, that's why mine is blue as well. But copying a color scheme... nah, there shouldn't be anything wrong with that, otherwise Google, Yahoo, etc. would all be at each other's throats saying, "You used my plain white theme!"

Looks good so far, still needs a little work, but it's getting there.

Thanks InsaneContender, could you tell me what else could I add to the forums to make it look better?

Thanks again.

IMO, you could improve the "You are here" navbar. It seems like it was quickly thrown together instead of thought out. I always did like the vBulletin default navbar...

The footer image also looks a little choppy.

Ummm... anything else I'm missing here? lol

MrDiaz 05-03-2006 03:15 AM

Thanks again InsaneContender, you were right. That You are here was kind of odd. I removed it.

Hmm what could I do for the footer though?

InsaneContender 05-03-2006 02:38 PM

You could probably drop the whole footer image alltogether IMO. It doesn't really need to be there, and it probably won't even be noticed anyway - it's just another thing that takes up space. lol

But once again, just my opinion.

Excellent! lol, thanks again ;)

Looking good MrDiaz. I like the highlight hover jobby you have going on on the side bar, although I'd be tempted to make it the same as on the homepage, or vice versa. Nice clean look. A big thumbs up from me.
