How do I move my VB site to a different server safely?
Can somebody help me? I just finished uploading all the files to the new server. What should I do next? Should I reinstall it like a fresh new installation? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

I was hosting my VB on a shared server, therefore I don't have a Telnet access.
Can we just use FTP access to do it? Please help me, appreciate it. |
Hi m8
I did my move with just FTP access :) As for your database, if its a big one you may need to get your new host to import it.. I did mine (64mb) but i had import it little bits at a time |
Bashy, I don't understand, can you explain it to me step-by-step?
Right now I have copied all the files to the new server and made a backup from the ACP and save it to my computer. What's next? Thanks in advance. Anyone else? Please help me, I'm really pressed and desperate to get someone to help me here! Come on man, we're all mankind here. Thanks in advance dawg. |
You need to try to import the database into your new hosts phpmyadmin
If it hangs for a lot longer than you thing it should for the size of the file then you will need to email your new host and ask them to if they can import your database for you |
Is that all I need to do? Can you help me on a step by step guide?
Dang. Can I maybe talk to you on IM? |
