vb.org Archive - massive mysql failure after shared -> vps.

i used to be in a shared hosting, my site grew so moved to vps hosting. being a newbie to it, i've asked my host to copy the entire shared account over to my vps. and they did.

when i was in shared, i only used to get the "max user connection" mysql error. but eversince moving to vps, i'm getting that error and i'm being bombarded with other numerous mysql errors.

i' tried stop, start, restarting the vps itself, then start, stop, restart just the mysql service. no luck. changed localhost to 127.0.0.1 in the vb config.php file. still no luck. also tried restarting mysql from cpanel whm. same result. mysql is not available for just five mintues!!

please have a look at the image to get a sense of the errors i'm getting.
i need help.!!!!

just for curiosity, i checked out the mysql.sock file size and it said "unknown" . is that normal?

(and now its not even there. just checked.)
