You mean to delete their account?

yea lets them close their account or delete it. that way no emails sent to them on mass emails, stuff like that

Is there any product for this yet? I'm looking for this too, but I can't find any. I want a unregister procedure that makes it possible to unregister if a user isn't comfortable with the forums rules.

The problem I can see here is that a user that wants to spam can register a nickname, post spam and then unregister the account. I can also see another problem that if an admin removes an account, it's impossible to ban the user later if there's nothing to ban...

So, this is some of my wishes in such product:

• If the user unregisters itself - the used mailaddress can't be used again for new registrations
• If the user unregisters itself, the ip will be blocked for a period of time, so spam-creation will be more painful

The alternative here is to disable/ban users automatically, but then, the account is still there and some users doesn't want that and I want to give all users a chance to really remove their accounts, and avoid problems after that.

I don't want to give any promises yet, but maybe there's a small chance to see a product release on this in a near future... :)

I now have a product that does following:

The user choose to delete the account. When the account is deleted the e-mail address will be blocked for future registrations, and the ip used when unregistered the nickname will also be blocked, so new registrations won't be possible for 2 hours.

One template included so no changes to old templates is needed. There will also be a kill.php included for the account removal.

This product is not yet tested, except for the experiments I did myself. And it's not uploaded somewhere yet.
