How do you get the money to host vB.org?

I was just wondering over my boredom, how are the admins of vb.org getting the money to host this website. There are no ads or anything and no methods to pay...

Is vb.com paying you for this?

They don't have to because it's free... Thanks Jelsoft! :D

Yes, Corrie is correct. Since this an official vb.com "sister site" it's paid for by Jelsoft. :)

Yeah, all sister sites of vB.com are hosted on the same server as far as I know.

Then how come they always stress that vb.org is an unofficial site?

Good question...

WHen people post questions in there that relate to code modifications, you usually get a "We cannot support code modifications, please visit www.vBulletin.org

Now since you guyz have said vb.com and vb.org are sister sites, that is like saying. "We can't support that, but visit our sister site, and if they screw it up then it's not our problem"

I can understand about being paid for, vBulletin.org is an awesome site, but the unofficial statements and the comments about saying they can't support it, just seems a little off colour

They don't - They stress that modifications done to your site that alter the source code will invalidate your support :)

Its quite simple, they support the medium of distrubution, but cannot support the code alterations. Think about the resourses involved with providing support for hacks. If all support was outsourced back to Jelsoft with the actual hacks being released here, could you imagine the postcount lost here or how thin spread the Jelsoft staff would be.

What host are they using or do they have their own server?
