How do I this..

Well I haved a left colum and I want it to have a backgroungd to that reapeats the whole way down how do I do this?

in the background class use

#hexcode url(path to image) repeat-y

or

#hexcode url(path to image) repeat

or in the template html specify this same information as a background.
