Secure Referal IDs?
Currently the refferal system is okay for free reputation points and a profile count, but not much more.
People have tried 'requires referal' ways of using their VBs, but users can put in any id and 'fake' a referal ridiculously easy. Hence I suggest some sort of secure referal system. How this would work is where my referal id at vb.org is &referrerid=54085, maybe it could be processed through some algorhthm to make it into &referrerid=353287507235702359239572350235 etc. Ideally such ids could 'expire' if not used for say a month. Also, ideally users could only refer X users per X (time) after which their referal id no longer works. I hope people get what I'm getting at. Is there any interest in this? |
You could try the Invites System I made - when performing a registration via an invite, the referrer cannot be altered.
