Idea for my future layout, can I do this?
 

Hi :)

I'm about to buy vBulletin, and I'm trying to figure out ideas for my forum layout, and I really want to base my forum's layout on another forum that I've seen, it's http://forums.vogue.com.au I don't want to make mine *exactly* the same....but I just want to know a fews things...

1. - Would it be easy or hard to make something similar to that site?

2. - Is their style based on a default style or any of the ones that have been released on any of the vB sites?

3. - Would the buttons and the gradients that they have used be available for me to use, or are they not standard? Is it possible to make buttons like those green ones but change the color to pink?

4. - Are you allowed to have a similar type layout to another vB user, or is copyright infringment?

Man... that's a big forum.

Well, you can replicate this. It's relatively simple. You just need to leave nothing to chance, and show that you haven't just stolen the style. You can copy and improve on the style, and I see no laws against that.

You need three things:

- Installed vBulletin Forum
- Adobe Photoshop (recommended) or someone on your team with it
- Hex Codes (Google it, should come up with a site called December.com) to add in to the skin editor built into the AdminCP.

It can be done. Many better skins have been developed here.
