Ban Ignore/Specified Users from Replying for vB354

Ban Ignored/Specified Users from Replying

Description
This hack will prevent ignored users from replying to your threads, as well as give you the option to ban additional users without adding them to your ignore list.

magnus : it's at the original thread author's discretion as to who shouldn't be allowed to reply.

For instance, if I have a problem with {user x} who is always trolling my threads and flamebaiting me, I can put {user x} in the "Banned Posters" field when I create my thread, and he will be unable to reply.

can this be ported for vB 3.5.4 please ?

Thanks for the info

but his hack features: 2. Can only ban if person has SuperModerator or Higher Permissions.

I want Regular Members to able to DENY a poster from his/her post

If I'm a member of a community that you are also a member of, and everytime you post or create a topic I come along and flood it with offtopic or idiotic comment, but not bad enough for the admins to ban me, I bet it would irritate you and you would wish for a way to stop me from flooding your topic.

Thats the purpose this mod would serve, for YOU to prevent ME from harrassing your posts . ;)

It sounds good when you explain it like that, yes, but people are stupid, it is inevitable. People will abuse that system, I can almost guarantee that. Unless you put some sort of restrictions on it...but if you do, you'll find that you'll start getting closer and closer to just limiting it to mods, super mods, and admins anyways.

People will create enemies and they wont let their enemies ever reply to their threads...those enemies will get angry and not let their enemies reply, and so on and so forth. All in all, it might sound good in theory, but I can't see it working out very well when looking at all sides and possiblities.

I see what you're sayng GT

people will talk about others if they hate them enough

so its both good and bad feature to have, someone will always lose ..
