parentid for Posts
I can't seem to find this addressed anywhere, but I've been looking at all of the database entries for posts as I make them, and I've noticed an odd behavior. When you click on the top "New Reply" button or use the quick reply, the parentid for your new post is whatever the postid for the thread's first post is. If you use the bottom "New Reply" button, it uses the post immediately preceding your new one (in that thread) for the parentid.
First, why is it different? Second, does it matter much which is used? |
actually nope, it doesn't matter as long as you don't have threaded mode enabled and hardly anyone uses threaded mode
|
Well, I don't use/allow threaded mode, so that little 'problem' certainly is cleared up! Thank you for your quick response :)
