Disneylinks Forums

Here is my site, up since January 3, 2006. Unfortunately I must be doing something wrong, as I can't seem to get any user-ship. Since then we have 15 members, 2 of them have done the email verification thing.

I don't know what's wrong! There are a LOT of other Disney discusion groups out there, but most don't do what I'm doing. Aiming specifically for information regarding the Disney Parks.

I need some advice... thanks! I put my link in most of my signatures but get yelled at by other sysops (there's a word I haven't heard or used in a long time) that I'm not allowed to advertize my site on theirs and there seems to be a feeling of competition on some boards.

I've also sent a mass email to all my users and it seems like no one has returned. What am I doing wrong, or what am I not doing period?

Any advice would be terrific.

Thanks,
Dan

No real content. You are going to need the front page operational and linking to tons of pages of real information if you are going to attract users. And, to kick start the forums, I wouldn't require email activation at first. In fact, I might not even require registration at first if users want to comment on an article you have written.

The key is going to be to get the momentum going, and content from you will breed posts from members. Posts will breed more visitors and more visitors will breed more registrations.

Thanks, how would you consider my linking to other sites, through a link in a new message, or is there some way to display the content through an XML file or RSS feed?

Good comment about not requiring email activation... Maybe that's one of the reasons that's keeping people from signing up. When usership gets going, I should then reinstate email activations.

Is the amount of content not dependent on how many users you can get, who post their own content and therefore increasing the amount of content you have?

You just need a place to allow them the freedom to post whatever they wish about a relevant topic.
