Anti-Bumping Hack???
 

I have a classifieds forum that I would like to setup so that new comments on the thread don't automatically bump the thread up to the top... Basically, I'm fighting against the dreaded "BTT" posts... Does anyone know of anything good out there?

I have no idea what a BTT post is.

Are you meaning the same person bumping a thread, in which case the prevent double posting hack would be what you want.

A "BTT" post is a guy that simply replies with "BTT" in the content field in order to get his thread moved back to the top of the forum.

BTT = "Back To Top"

- This one doesn't work as it breaks the conversation. It's a pretty ugly deal when installed. I would like folks to have a nice linear view still, I just don't want the thread to be bumped to the top everytime someone replies.

- This one really doesn't have anything to do with anti-bumping. It basically gives the admin the ability to bump something to the top or make it older...

you can customize prevent double posting to make it look however you want. and what exactly do you mean ugly? It uses whatever style your board uses.

and the bump threads/make threads older was just to give you a tool to counter people bumping their threads all the time, which is the problem you said you were having.
