categorizing threads

Hi
I was wondering if anyone knew how i can categorize my threads like
http://forums.slickdeals.net/forumdi...hp?sduid=0&f=9

see how they have lil icons with tech, dvd, video, other, etc.... and they can be click to show only those categories first

does anyone know how i can do that?
