Cookie Problem?

I have disabled all plugins one by one, as well as turning them all off at once via vB options. Yet I stil can not figure out which one is causing a cookie problem.

The problem is, I enter into a forum. I view any new posts, and I click the forum banner again to return to the forum index. As I broswe the forums, there will be no unread threads in a forum yet the staus icon indicates there are still new posts even though I enter the forum and not a single thread is displayed as unread. Return to the index. Still the status icons is reflecting new posts when in fact there is not.

Any suggestions?

AdminCP->vBulletin Options->General Options->Thread/Forum Read Marking Type: Inactivity/Cookie Based or Database (automatic forum marking)

Im having the same issue. I have "Database (automatic forum marking)" checked. I havent added any mods or changed any settings. It was working just fine and for some reason I have the same problem as described above.

Why bumps a 2 year old thread that isnt directly related to your problem?

All i can offer in terms of helps is there is a problem in your database not updating.

Zath 03-19-2008 04:48 PM

For your information.. YES it is not marking threads correctly. YES this does describe the issue that my forums are having. I wouldnt have bumped this thread if the problem wasnt like described above.

When I did a search on these forums this is a thread that came up. 2 year old post of not. It IS my issue. If your not going to be helpfull... just stfu and dont try to belittle me.

You see, heres the difference I was using COOKIE MARKING. I switched to database marking as Marco said and all was good. Your using db marking and having the problem. Similar yes, not the same.

Really i thought I made the thread. Plus the title of the thread is COOKIE problem, not DATABASE problem.

Actually I tried to offer a bit of advice there but i guess you missed it. Plus I dont think the mods will take nicely to such harsh language.

You know everyone always say "Have you searched the forums for an answer?" I did and this was the closest I found to my problem. I will create my own thread from now on. I didnt mean to step on your toes by asking for help.

I am done with this thread.
~ISSUE CLOSED~

Xplorer4x4 03-19-2008 08:23 PM

Yes search for the answer. If the answer doesnt exist, then make a thread asking for help. This thread title has nothing to do with your problem and therefore is likley to provide you with results.

You didn't step on any toes by asking for help, you stepped on toes for replying with such a derogative comment of "stfu" when I was atleast trying to some what point you in the right direction. If your going to reply to me with that kind of attitude when I was offering more help then any one else had and obviously have a far more likley hood of figuring out the issue then you do you should try showing some respect to those that are at least attempting to help you.
