Skype Logo missing...
Hi,
this has just happened now / recently that on the Who's online page it sometimes shows me the skype logo well a grey 1 with a questionmark? dont know why i thought it was the blue 1? and now i noticed it sometimes shows that or the actual text which messes up my table and same applies to my profile page... any ideas on how to fix this? http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/9948/wol8si.jpg |
I'm new and probably can't help much, but I can maybe help with the ovious. Maybe the image has been deleted, maybe not by you, but someone who has FTP access deleted it by mistake.

its already there i checked im_skype.gif - i even uploaded it again to overwrite it. it just acts weird the board.
dont have a clue why it was showing me the grey icon with a questionmark. It was working nicely before i upgraded to 3.5.4 now i don't know what went wrong.. The grey icon is picked up from skype.com or something i just checked the location... but what about our vbulletin blue icon... |
I have a missing image red x and the address for the person. It no longer is looking in the server for the file, but right to skype.? Looks messy and skews things, so I'm making people take it down until a fix is made.

The fix is for Skype to mend their web server. It's been down for almost two days.

so does this mean other vbulletin users are getting the same thing as me? its not an error, it just doesn't look professional... if others are getting this too then il keep my mouth shut lol if im the only one then what the hell :| this needs to be sorted...
|
Yep im getting the same.
|
Everyone will get it - the link is to the status icons on the skype servers, which are currently borked.

Yep, I'm grousing about it here:
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...78#post1087978 Also being discussed here: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showp...&postcount=163 The fact of the matter is, SkypeWeb in vB 3.5.4 relies on reaching this external server. In my case, it's causing stalls on every page of every thread in my forum. I ultimately had to disable SkypeWeb functionality (which wasn't too difficult, luckily, since I'm still on 3.5.3.) vBulletin should auto-disable SkypeWeb when that server is down, or at the very least, allow us to revert to the "old" way of doing things. Otherwise everytime that server goes down, our forums stop working properly. Bad upgrade, bad! |
I've replaced the standard phrase with just "Skype" at least that way it doesn't take up much screen space.
