Question about translated phrases being overwritten at each re-import of product

Hi there,

i use a plug-in from vb.org and translated all the phrases for this plug-in.

Unfortunately all my translated phrases are overwritten with every update for this product. When checking for unnecessary phrases in vBulletin i get all my translated phrases marked as unnecessary.

Is someone able to tell me (and the author of this plug-in) what goes wrong here? Does it have something to do with the order of the original phrases in the plugin-xml? (those were changed)

To be more specific:
The plugin uses a phrase called plugin_name_welcome = "Welcome"
I translate this to plugin_name_welcome = "Willkommen" for the german language.
After upgrading the plugin with checked "overwrite" box i have one unnecessary plugin_name_welcome = "Willkommen" and one untranslated plugin_name_welcome. So plugin_name_welcome is again "Welcome"

This did not happen with other plugins. Must the author change somethnig in his plugin?

Some help would be very fine.

Thanks, Wachtmeister

Maybe the phrasegroup changed?
Otherwise this should not happen.

are you sure you have the german language installed and your not just changing the default?in phrases you can have multiple languages.

Yes, i double checked this, because i wasn't sure first. I now know how to export my translation and re-import the phrases after updateing the product :) Thanks Andreas for this.

I saw this happen, too.
So is there no solution other that exporting/reimporting the xml?
This sounds a little too primitive...

I can't reproduce the problem with the attached testproduct (both XMLs are the same, just the version number is different)
