URGENT HELP PLEASE: Login Issues
 

Problem: many people are complaining that randomly they cannot login to my site (page not found or "banned") even though they were not banned at all. The worst part about tracing this is that it happens to them ONLY with my site (while they cannot get into my forums, they can browse other sites). I have no idea where to begin trying to trace this problem. Below is basically a copy/paste of my text file of ALL hacks installed. If anyone can help me trace this I would be forever grateful. Thank you!

When did this start? Did the problem coincide with the install of a particular mod????

Have you checked usergroups??

Do you use accessmasks?

Definately a while but never gave it any thought due to the fact that I see many without the problem, but now a few with the problem.

After resetting their modem/router/pc 99% of the time it'll work for them.

No access masks setup on the forums whatsoever. What about usergroups? Nothing wrong with their permissions

Reset your cookie path & domain back to default.
Let your members clear their browser & cookie cache.

What is the link to the board?

Try creating a New Style with no parent set. Let your members browse with that new Style. Do they still have problems?

If yes, disable all plugins and try again.

If none of that works click your heels 3 times and say "There is no place like home"....................

I can't think of it right now but there is some script for fixing the cookie issue and it did work for me when I had a similiar problem....

Someone must know of the script I am talking about...

You're talking about tools.php, and we use that if you can not access your AdminCP anymore due to cookie issues.
