The author requested that the thread be deleted.

There is a work around for the bugs. If you would like this hack as I believe the two bugs are permission based but I can't find them. I will one day release the hack as it is great. If you would like the hack in the current state (I offer no support). You may PM me with your email address and I will dig it up. The bugs are; that it won't allow attachments until an admin edits and when it calling on quickreply it duplicates the post for some reason.

Take care

Didn't you have an anonymous posting hack on here at one time?

By the way, I live in Iowa too!

tnguy3n 03-06-2006 09:44 PM

Yay, more Iowans on the board now. Boofy is also from Iowa.

As for the hack, it's a custom hack created for a site ages back. Maybe it has a little problem with some new versions of vBulletin. I think It'd work fine if AJAX feature disabled in Quickreply.

He is as the original thread stated a month ago! tnguy3n was hired for this hack for his knowledge.

Sorry but you are less than half correct. You were hired to create this hack for vBulletin v.3.5.1, which never fully worked, as you were fully aware when we discussed this. The quickreply bug wasn't the big deal. What was a big deal was the attachment bug, but you abandoned the project without completing the work. This is why I released it on this board with the caveates, hoping someone would like to pick up where you dropped the ball. Then the hack could be available for anyone in the community to use. Without the bugs worked out, I was left with an incomplete job. You were fully aware of the attachment bug at that time but you simply would not work out the bugs.

Since the attatchments were 75% of why this custom hack was requested, this left me in a tight spot. You also did not respond to a few voicemails and emails of concern (that I can dig up if needed). I did not even hear back from you when I offered to pay you more money to fix the bugs, even though I had already paid you the agreed-upon amount for the entire job. (Lesson learned on payment in advance, but I'd never run into this before after 3 years of working with coders from vBulletin.org!)

In my eyes and those of my client that you were doing work for, you simply "took the money and ran" when the hack got to hard to complete! We told you that day that we would gladly give you a hearty bonus on top of the amount that you wanted and all we wanted was a working hack - what I venture to say most paying clients would have wanted!

In releasing the hack on the board before, my intention was not to air this dirty laundry. The original post had none of this background - just gave credit to the coder for the work that you did do. The only reason I am putting this out here now is because you don't seem to have a clue as to the position you put me and my client in. ("Wave to Mike"???) Since you didn't respond to my emails and voicemails when I tried to resolve this with you privately, I am instead posting it here.
