Private forum?
Does vB 3.5.3 have any feature where you can create a private forum or just a thread, accessible with a password?
The ladies on my forum want a "ladies only" section, password protected so the men can't read it. Is this do-able? |
Since vB3.0 you can already create a Private Forum, using Forum Permissions. It is also possible to password protect a forum.
All already there. |
ok I figured out how to do the first part... but I can't find the password protect feature... could you please tell me where to look?
|
It is one of the Forum Settings (AdminCP->Forum Manager->edit forum)
|
great, thank you!
|
Hmm with what you want, you might want to look into a hack that is here at vb.org, that will put user in a (secondary) usergroup, based on profile fields. You could probably use that to create a Male & a Female usergroup.
|
THAT... is what I'm looking for!
|
Just in case you didn't find them yet:
- Add User to Primary Usergroup Based on Value of Custom Profile Field - Add User to Secondary Usergroup Based on the Value of a Custom Profile Field at Reg. |
