2 sql databases

alright suppose i already have 1 forum running, and i want to add a backup from my other site to this, so the posts/members from both the places gets merged, what do i use ? impex ?
its from a vb 3.5 to a vb 3.5

wud it work ?
what do i need to do basically ?
