AJAX Question - plus/minus buttons.

Hello All,

Can someone assist me, I am trying to come up with a simple piece of code to allow me to increase or decrease a number displayed on a page in real time with a plus and minus button. For instance the user might have 50 points to spend, and can select what areas to put them in with a +/- button and have it show how many are left, and how many are assigned.

Any clues? ... i've looked around AJAX, or Javascript DOM Objects.

any assistance greatly appreciated.
