Forum specific Reply w/o Bump

I need a mod/hack that will allow me to set certain forums to Reply without Bump.

I've been searching on here and vbulletin.com for a few hours trying to find this. I found a few hacks that 'sort of' accomplish this, but not quite.

What I need:

As stated above, I need to be able to set specific forums to NOT bump threads when anyone replies.

I need the 'view' of these threads to be forced onto everyone viewing. Example: Reader MUST see threads the way I want them to. I found other hacks that allowed you to sort threads by creation date, etc. But that allows anyone to just 'set their preference' or resort it however they want.

I need this to be forced. Or rather, I need there to be a lack of options (I just want it to do one thing).

I found this mod, but it's from version 2.something. I'm running 3.5.3, and I'm a little wary of trying to install this. It 'looks' like exactly what I want, but I don't want to mess things up by installing a previous version hack. Especially not one so far off from my ver.

Ideally I'd like to be able to turn this feature on via: AdminCp > Forums & Moderators > Forum Manager > Edit Forum ... so that I can set specific forums to work this way, not make them all like that.

Can anyone help?

Thanks. :tired:

Bump (ironic, heh)

I've found this hack: Reply no Bump

But it's for vB 2.2.x.

If no one is able to write a new hack that I'm looking for, could anyone possibly tell me if it'd be safe to install this one on vB 3.5.3. Or, for that matter, if it would even work?

I would try to install it, but it uses a install.php, so I'm not sure what else it alters during the install (what to backup).

If it was just an edit of the forumdisplay.php, I could backup that file, try it, and have the backup ready if it didn't work.

Thanks.
