1. Is there a way to get the VB variable $thread[preview] into the newest_threads.html template? I'm trying to get truncated thread previews in the output listing. I'd like this to remove any images / smilies / bbcode from the thread preview if possible.

2. Is there a way to parse BBCode & HTML properly for images? What I run into is that images that are posted seem to be relative to the directory in which the forum is setup in.
