Adding More Games

How do you add more games? What format should they be in? Can you give me an example?

Ibpro games usually come as a .tar file
Vbgames usually come as a .zip file

The easiest way to add them is to upload them to the arcade/zip or arcade/tar folder and then use the add game button in the arcade section of the admincp.

tar and zip files contain swf file, two images and 1 php file?

There are two ways to distinguish the differences between tar and zip files.

The easiest and most obvious way is by the file extension. Zip files end with .zip and tar files end with .tar.

The other way is that the ibproarcade tar games would be like this...

Take the game Pacman, for example: In tar format, looks like game_pacman.tar and in zip format, looks like pacman.zip.

I was asking about what should be the contents of tar and zip file. I downloaded some ibproarcade games in tar files and they contained those 4 files: 2 gifs, 1 swf and one php file. Is that all it should have?

Don't know exactly as I never opened them I just uploaded the tar and installed. That looks like that is all you should need.

Typically, yes that's all both tar and zip files will have. However, there are some games out there that require an extra swf file, such as an intro or loader.

The zip files PHP file will be (example) - pacman.game.php and the tar file will just be pacman.php, if that helps with any questions you might have in mind.

I never opened them either until some of them did not work, so I was curious as to what was inside. Turned out that, depending on where you download games from, some of the PHP files aren't scripted correctly. They're missing some lines in the PHP file(s). Like I said, this depends on where you download games from also.

Hello! I installed pacman from a zip I followed these instructions To install Pacman, upload the following files to your forum:
pacman1.gif -> /images/arcade/pacman1.gif
pacman2.gif -> /images/arcade/pacman2.gif
pacman.swf -> /games/pacman.swf
pacman.game.php -> /admincp/pacman.game.php

Point your browser to /admincp/pacman.game.php. (E.g. http://www.yourforums.com/forum/admi...cman.game.php).
Don't forget to delete the script once you're finished!

I am stuck at Point your browser to /admincp/pacman.game.php do they mean in the game upload area or what do they mean by point your browser. and what scrpit do I have to delete? I am new at this so can someone explain this as clear as possible. btw I am running the newest version of v3 arcade. Thanks for all your help,
Kurt

That discription about installation is for the old v3arcade

Remove all the Files, upload the ZIP to /arcade/zip/ and enter your AdminCP, click ADD GAME and look for automatic installation of v3arcade-Games, you just need one click INSTALL and all will be done automatically :)
