Using animated gifs for post icons
 

Hi,

I would like to use an animated gif next to new posts. I know which image to replace so that the image shows next to a new post, but the problem is that my image won't show as animated.

It just sits on the first frame and doesn't animate.

Is there anything else I need to do to get this to work?

I use them on www.cockytalk.com without any problems. It sounds like you may have a problem with the uploading to your image folder. This happened to me once and I just uploaded it again.

Not sure why it doesn't work for me then, I've created an animated gif from an existing envelope gif and uploaded it, but it won't animate.

You can see the gif on my webserver here, http://forum.simalert.com/images/sta...thread_new.gif and you will notice that it's animating correctly, but now visit my forum at http://forum.simalert.com and you will notice that it doesn't animate at all on there.

I am using vBulletin 3.5.3, is there anything I need to change or activate to allow animated gif post icons?

(I already have the option to allow animated Avitars enabled)

Ah! Worked it out.

I have a different skin loaded on my forum and when I checked it, it uses it's own images directory and not the standard one, so when I was updating the standard image directory it wasn't having any affect.

All sorted now, just me being daft :D
