Mod development forum?

Lately I've been trying to write my own plugins. I've been plodding along though the API and the docs, and the one thing that'd be a nicer addition is a dedicated development forum. The Modification Questions forum is more of a troubleshooting / problem solving section, and whenever I have a question about how to go about coding the actual mod itself, I'm hesitant to post up in there because that particular forum is so busy. General Modification Discussion is almost the same way - there tend to be more questions in there about specific modifications than mod development as a whole.

Anyhow, as a .2c, myself and my awe-inspiring 16 installs would dig a section for discussing mod development and the API. :)

Hmm, I would have suggested exactely those to sections you ruled out ("General MOD discussion" on #1) - how about the "PHP / MySQL / ..." section?

:)

Yeah, I get by, usually either by searching or some good old fashioned RTFM-ing. ;)

actually we have had some more forums like these in the past, but it didn't work out to well.

users posted thier questions in the wrong forum, or doubleposted the....

that's why we have merged a lot of them, and i don'T think it would be any better now, if we split up them again (also we already have so much forums, which is very complicated for newbies already...)

Ah, but when the fabled hack database comes along, you will have much less forums (or at least that's how I understood the plan). So maybe then you could look at this again. :)

well, yes that's an option

and yes you understood the plan quite right (i hope, or i don't understand it either ^^)
