Require Usernames to start with a number/letter?
 
Is it possible to add in a restriction to only allow usernames to start with a number/letter?

I swear, if I get one more [==d00D==] registered at my forum, I'm going to start lighting bunnies on fire.

I hate usernames with characters besides letters and numbers
so disable/disallow ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) __ + = -- ` [ ] \ ; ' , . / { } | : " < > ? in username

i KNOW there's a hack for this somewhere.. if i can't find it, i'll write the plugin tonight and upload it.....

This pi$$e$ me off more than anything! After i write this quickie mod for us all, the days of "|< () R |/|" and "|3 () () |3 $" are GONE FOREVER!!!!!!!!

lemme code it up really quick and i'll upload it for 3.5.3

I just found it... all you gotta do is edit the preg_match to your tastes and thats the end of that nightmare!
