[Add/Import Product] question..

When I select to upload the XML file from your computer then hit the import button it just will not upload.

I have tried renaming the file, placing it directly on the C drive of my computer, redownloading the file etc and in luck.

I'm probably doing something stupid but I can't figure out what it is.

Any ideas before I try the support staff? I hate to ask really stupid questions of the support group at vbulletin.com site.

Do you have a firewall on your PC? It could possibly be that it is causing havoc with XML files.

What error do you get ?

rumor2 01-20-2006 02:23 AM

OK I tried this at home and work and both with the same result.

I enter the path to the xml file and click import and the message I get back is:

No file uploaded and no local file found.

Any ideas?

Odd thing is that if I FTP it to the server then use the

OR import the XML file from your server option

it works. Odd but I guess I can work around it.

Did you click Browse to select the file?

Also make sure that you are not trying to import a Product as a Plugin, or the otherway round.

Yes I did browse to select the file. I have the exact same problem with products. I can ftp them up and import them just fine but can't upload them from my pc.

It has to be something local if no one else has ran into this before so I'll just do it the other way.

Thank you for taking the time to try to help :)

Try it from a different PC, or ask another admin if he got the same problems.

You could also try turning gzip off in your vB options.

I've got this problem too! However if i upload XML file to the server and enter the path it still won't find it... help!

Same issue here, anyone get this resolved?

Marco van Herwaarden 05-14-2006 03:06 PM

Post a copy of your phpinfo page.

PS If this happens to all products, vbulletin.com would be a more appropriate place to post this.
